Youth-led climate organization · Seoul, Korea

Climate education for everyone.

We design inclusive, adaptable climate education and bring young voices into the rooms where climate decisions are made, from Korean campuses to the UN climate conference.

Our belief

Climate talks shouldn't belong only to governments. We open them up to students, children and communities.

A letter from Coolimate

How are you?

And more deeply, are we truly well in the world we are living in today?

We are living in a time when the climate crisis is no longer a distant warning about the future. It is already here, shaping the air we breathe, the places we call home, and the lives of the people we love.

For us to be well, and for those we care about to be well, it is not enough to simply recognize the crisis. We must keep asking what can be done, what our part might be, and how we can move forward together. In the face of the climate crisis, we are invited to ask ourselves: What is the right thing to do, here and now?

Coolimate began with this question.

We welcome anyone who understands the preciousness of the world they live in, and who carries the desire to protect what is precious, not only for today, but for the future. Coolimate is a space for those who are willing to keep questioning, learning, and turning care into action.

Here, people from diverse fields come together as Climate Pracademics. From where we each stand, we ask questions about the climate crisis, explore possible responses together, and take on the challenge of transforming ideas into practice.

At Coolimate, we understand the climate crisis not only as an environmental issue, but also as a deeply social one. Its responsibilities and impacts are not shared equally. For some, the climate crisis may appear as an inconvenience. For others, it is already a matter of survival. This is why climate justice lies at the heart of our journey.

Because climate action itself must be more just, we are creating public spaces in South Korea where children and youth can learn about climate change, connect, and grow through shared dialogue. Internationally, we are running education development cooperation projects for climate adaptation in local communities that are especially vulnerable to the climate crisis, while continuing research toward a just transition.

In the end, change does not always begin with something grand. Sometimes, it begins with one honest question.

Coolimate hopes to be a platform where you can ask that first question, sit with it, and gradually find your own answer. We hope that the questions, challenges, and moments you share with Coolimate will remain with you as a quiet but lasting source of hope.

We are living in the present for the sake of the future. For a world where we can breathe more freely, and for a future where all living beings on Earth can live in health and dignity, we will continue to search for what must be done now, and we will continue to try.

To everyone who will walk this journey with Coolimate, we welcome you with all our hearts.

With warm regards,
Coolimate

Our mission

Cool climate, cool mates

Our name holds two ideas. Together they say what we are here to do.

COOL+CLIMATE

To cool down a planet heated by the climate crisis.

A youth-led movement to make climate action a cool culture.

COOL+I+MATE

Coolimate begins with one person's sense of urgency (I) and grows through solidarity with like-minded Mates.

We run education programs and create spaces for community dialogue, so that children and young people around the world can advance climate justice and lead climate action.

Our vision

Together with children and youth, we want to make climate action more than a trend: a just and sustainable global culture that takes us to net zero by 2050.

What ‘Cool’ means to us

  1. 01Equitable ‘Cool’
  2. 02Actionable ‘Cool’
  3. 03Joyable ‘Cool’
  4. 04Sustainable ‘Cool’
  5. 05Expandable ‘Cool’
